Grapeseed Oil is an ideal salad dressing, cooking, frying and baking oil. It is chef’s favorite because its clean, neutral taste allows the flavor of the food to stand out. 100% natural with no preservatives added. Although known to Europeans for centuries, grapeseed oil was not produced or used on a large scale until the 20th century, largely due to the fact that grape seeds contain a lower percentage of oil as compared to other oil-producing seeds, nuts or beans. Nowadays it has been discovered for its healthful qualities. |
Grapeseed Oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the seeds of various varieties of Vitis vinifera grapes, an abundant by-product of wine making produced in Italy.
It has a clean, light taste described as "neutral taste". It retains the original flavor of foods and imparts no after taste, permitting the full flavor of the dish to be appreciated.
Grapeseed oil has a relatively high smoke point, approximately 420 °F (216 °C). This important property is based on its fatty acid composition and antioxidant content, so it can be safely used to cook at high temperatures for stir-fries, deep-frying, sautéing and fondue. The first thing you notice when cooking with it is that it will not smoke, burn or splatter like other cooking oils. For this reason it is excellent for frying, because of its remarkable heat stability and the pleasant buttery flavor imparted to fried foods.
Thanks to its neutral taste grapeseed oil is often used as an ingredient in salad dressings or as a base for infusing or flavoring with garlic, rosemary, other herbs or spices. It is also used as an ingredient in homemade mayonnaise.
